Adopted Pet: A cat named Hazzel

QUESTION: What made you decide to adopt a pet from Beaufort County Animal Services? What was your first impression of the animal you adopted?

Answer: We decided to adopt to help out the shelter, I didn’t know much about the shelter at the time but got a lot of feedback from friends that it was best to adopt a kitty! At first when I met my kitty girl Hazzel (formerly Sarah) I instantly fell in love with her but I was terrified of cats! Crazy right? Hazzel has been the bestest kitty ever! She’s grown with my since graduating high school in the beginning of COVID to now being a mama of 2 boys who absolutely adore Hazzel! 

QUESTION: What made you decide to adopt a pet from Beaufort County Animal Services? What was your first impression of the animal you adopted?

Answer: In 2020 my boyfriend-now-husband talked me into going to look at the shelter finally after some feedback about where it’d be best to find a kitty. We found Hazzel almost instantly and she has been our baby ever since! We’ve added two little boys to our family ever since but Hazzel will always be my first baby! She’s gotten me through the toughest times in my life! She’s always been my little companion and now my 2 little guys companion! They love her oh so much.

QUESTION: What do you love most about your pet?

How loyal and caring she is! I’ve had tough days with tears and my sweet girl always comforts me! 

QUESTION: What would you tell someone who is considering adopting a pet from Beaufort County Animal Services?

Do it! Best choice ever, I don’t know where we’d be without our sweet Hazzel girl!
